Eriosyce odieri FK 529, ToToral, on hils above Totoral Bajo, Copiapo, Chile.
It is a small brown cactus with wooly areoles and short spines. The species only occurs in the central northern coastal area of the Atacama desert. It is a rather small-growing (up to 5cm Ø) plant. Flowers are large, silky, vary from whitish, yellowish to pinkish colour, 3.5 cm in diameter.
It is relatively easy to grow if not over-water (its tuberous root is rot prone). It needs good drainage and very a porous potting mixture. We use pure mineral substrate (Lechuza Pon) which we recommend. Keep dry in winter.
You will receive a bare root plant- it is a safe way to transport cacti.
Approximate size: 16-20 mmØ
